Summer Camp

Join us for fun, creative camp experiences at Suncoast Waldorf School this summer!

Registration for Summer Magic 2018 will open on Monday, February 12th.

Waldorf inspired summer camps are offered during the summer months on Suncoast Waldorf School’s oak-shaded campus. This year’s camps will include options for Early Childhood and the Grades children. Our camps run from June 25th through August 3rd with weekly themed activities and projects that encompass indoor and outdoor activities, water fun and a group bonfire or picnic lunch on Fridays. The classrooms will enjoy a faux campfire for a relaxing “camping” feel.

Early Childhood Camps (age 3-4) run from 9:00am to 12:30pm, Monday through Friday with an option to sign-up for aftercare until 3:00pm. Snack and materials provided.
Half-day: $125
Full-day: $175

Grades Camps (age 5-7 and 8-11) run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. Materials provided.

Farm to Table

June 25th – 29th

Nursery (3-4): *Full*  Based loosely on our grades summer program, our early childhood classroom will will explore our garden, hear stories about a seeds journey from farm to table, and participate in creating delicious healthy snacks such as homemade bread and butter through both measurement and preparation. The children will have many opportunities throughout the week to experience and thoroughly enjoy themselves in the process of cooking.

Kindergarten/Grades (5-7 and 8-11): Hands on fun in the kitchen where aspiring mini chefs and bakers will learn the components of a healthy recipe, measure ingredients and prepare a dish. They will have fun exploring creative food decorating and presentation.
This session includes a daily 45min ukulele lesson!


July 2-6

Nursery (3-4):  Children will learn the basics of weaving and create loom projects to bring home. We will explore all the ways and places we can find color and pattern inspirations – in nature, at home or from pictures!

Kindergarten/Grades (5-7 and 8-11): If it can be woven, we will weave it! Children will learn basic weaving techniques, then be able to experiment with their new skills.. They will have a variety of looms to use indoors to create nature-inspired décor, accessories and other projects to bring home.
This session includes a daily 45min ukulele lesson!

Creative Re-Engineering

July 9-13

Nursery (3-4): Our nursery summer camp children will be offered a variety of items found in the home, nature, and even the recycling bin to inspire their creative imagination. The children will have the opportunity to recreate their favorite parts to repurpose into a new creative projects, or use their imaginations to incorporate them into their play. In keeping with our Waldorf pedagogy, the children will also hear stories and participate in daily circles relating to our theme.

Kindergarten/Grades (5-7 and 8-11): Our kindergarten/grades summer camp children will use their creative thinking as they re-engineer items found in the home, nature, and even the recycling bin! This camp will inspire your child’s imagination as they come up with ideas on how to incorporate each

Weave and Loom

July 16-20

Nursery (3-4): Based loosely on our grades summer program theme, our early childhood children will be offered opportunities to learn the basics of fiber arts, such as weaving, wet felting, knitting, or other fun yarn activities. Throughout the week, they will hear stories about the many places we can find color and patterns for inspiration as well as participate in daily circle.

Kindergarten/Grades (5-7 and 8-11): Our fiber arts camp will offer the grades children an experience with various fibers and techniques. Activities include weaving, macrame, and simple knitting or crochet that will then inspire our creative minds.


July 23-27

Nursery (3-4): With the idea of woodworking in mind, our early childhood children will work with wood pieces, glue, and imagination to create beautiful fairy homes, gnome nooks, bird houses, or something else as individual as each one of us. Children will also have the opportunity to hear stories and circles pertaining to woodworking, as well as forage in nature to find natural building materials such as rocks, sticks, and leaves to decorate their lovely creations.  This camp has proven to be a favorite from year to year!

Kindergarten/Grades (5-7 and 8-11): Using traditional hand tools to cut and prep the wood, children will learn how to design and construct a project from start to finish. Children will develop practical woodworking skills and gain confidence to tackle do-it-yourself projects at home.

Adventures in Art

July 30 – Aug 3

Nursery (3-4) and Kindergarten/Grades (5-7 and 8-11): Children will have the opportunity to discover and experiment with several art crafting methods. They will learn basic techniques with a variety of media and materials including acrylic and wet-on-wet watercolor painting, sculpting with beeswax and clay, paper mache, wet felting, and needle sewing. Every child will surely be engaged throughout the week as they work on a variety of projects to share with their families and friends.
